Guess what? July 12th was my 5-year anniversary! I initially wanted to celebrate by hosting an in-person event, but of course the pandemic disrupted those plans. Regardless of what is going on in the world, I still choose to celebrate in some small way.
Five years ago, I started KrystleClearPageantry.com. It has been a blessing to see the site grow in such a beautiful way. Krystle Clear Pageantry started out as a blog, but it has transformed into a pageantry coaching and education platform. For those of you who have not been with me from the beginning, let me educate you on my journey.
How did I get started?
Blogging was not an initial desire of mine, but I am glad I stepped out on faith and began this blogging journey. This journey began in 2014 when I received the opportunity to serve as a guest blogger for NaturalGirlsRock.com. During that time, I was a Natural Girls Rock Global Brand Ambassador, and I was afforded the opportunity to guest post on their website. At the time I really did not know much about blogging, but I knew I wanted to share information about my own natural hair journey.
Who is my inspiration?
I became acclimated with blogging by being an active follower of CourtneyLuv.com. CourtneyLuv.com was a fashion, arts, music, and entertainment site created by my sorority sister Courtney L. Teague. The more I read CourtneyLuv.com and followed Courtney’s journey, the more I became interested in blogging. I then decided to pursue this new venture. I purchased and read her book Just Blog It Already, and I signed up for her Blogger University 101 course because I wanted to learn more about the industry. After taking Blogger University 101, I discovered that my primary niche was pageantry.
Why pageantry?
I have been in the pageantry industry for 18 years, and it is a topic that I love to talk about constantly. I was confident that I had the knowledge and expertise to share that would be beneficial to women and girls in the industry. After much procrastination, I finally made the decision to launch KrystleBell.com.
I published my first post on the site on July 12, 2015. I was nervous because I did not know if I would be successful in the blogging industry.
Over time I decided to marry my love for blogging and pageant coaching to create Krystle Clear Pageantry. Krystle Clear Pageantry is all encompassing pageantry and education platform where you can obtain access to coaching, content, books, courses, and the list goes on.
That Biggest Lesson I Have Learned in the Past Five Years
Success Takes Time.
Contrary to popular belief, you cannot start a blog or website and expect to have major success in a few short months. Even though I have had this platform for 5 years, I am still not where I want to be success wise. I still have a lot to learn, and I believe my desired results will manifest in due season.
If you are thinking about creating an online platform, make sure you are in it for the long haul. You can easily set up a blog or website by using Bluehost. I have been using Bluehost to host my site since 2015. Also, creating a blog is a great way to document your pageant journey and build your brand.
What’s Next?
- Even More Content
Content is EVERYTHING in the pageantry world so I will continue to bring more content that helps women and girls in pageantry experience success. You will also see NEW courses and workshops. This pandemic will not stop my vision.
- Virtual 5K Event
I know I mentioned this in last year’s anniversary post, but it is still coming. All my pageant women and girls who are avid runners or have a goal to live a healthy lifestyle, this event is for you. Stay tuned.
As you can see Krystle Clear Pageantry has experienced tremendous growth in the past five years. I cannot wait to see what God has planned for this platform for the next five years.
