The Traveling Queen Chronicles is a series that details my travel adventures. This queen may love her gown and crown, but she loves to travel the world too.

On June 25, 2016, I had the opportunity to travel to Chattanooga, Tennessee, to visit the Tennessee Aquarium. This was my first time to visit an aquarium, and I was excited for the learning opportunity. We arrived around noon and stood in line to purchase our tickets. The line was extremely long so one of the staff members encouraged us to purchase our tickets from our mobile device. At the time, I was using my “not so” smart phone so my boyfriend purchased the tickets from his phone. We had the tickets purchased within minutes, and we were ready to begin our journey. The Tennessee Aquarium exhibits are housed in the River Journey and the Ocean Journey. We made our way to the River Journey entrance first. We were greeted by friendly smiles and southern hospitality. As we journeyed through River Journey, we saw fish, turtles, otters, sea horses, and other aquatic life. Each display had a thorough description so even an aquatic life novice like me could understand and comprehend. We also visited the gift shop where we bought magnets and other souvenirs to remember the trip.
After completing the tour of the River Journey, we took a break for lunch at the Bluewater Grille. A few steps to good food, the Bluewater Grille contains a high end atmosphere with budget friendly prices. The menu contained coastal seafood and beef selections. The design of the restaurant was rather expensive looking (It had glass chandeliers!), but you did not feel like you had to wear a suit and tie to fit in. The staff was professional, and our server was very attentive.
After lunch, we journeyed to The Ocean Journey where we saw jellyfish, sharks, butterflies, and my favorite PENGUINS! The penguins even had children. We didn’t get to stay long at Ocean Journey because they were closing.
Before we traveled back to Sweet Home Alabama, we took pictures of the Tennessee Aquarium sign.
My overall impression of the Tennessee Aquarium was a positive one. I enjoyed the atmosphere, displays, and the friendly staff. If I ever get the opportunity to travel to Chattanooga again, I plan to make a stop at the Tennessee Aquarium. There was so much I did not get to see due to time constraints so I definitely want to visit again.
