“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” I John 5:14 (NIV)
Prayer is a powerful tool you can use when you are preparing for your pageant competition. You may be stressed or anxious about your upcoming pageant, but prayer centers you and calms your spirit. You do not have to come from a specific religious background to incorporate prayer into your life. Prayer is for anyone who wants to use it.
What exactly is prayer?
Prayer is simply a conversation with your God source. It is where you align your mind with Divine mind.
How do I pray?
- Find a quiet space free from distractions and talk with your Creator.
- Tell Him your thoughts, plans, desires, fears, hurts, etc.
- Ask Him for help or restoration in any area of your life.
- Remember others in your prayer time. Ask God to bless them.
- Always give thanks what for what He has already done and what He will do.
Please note: Don’t just use prayer as a bargaining tool to get what you want. That is not the main purpose of prayer.
As you begin to incorporate consistent prayer into your life, you will see a shift in your heart, mindset, and emotions. You will also begin to experience success that you never imagined would manifest.
Still don’t believe me?
That is okay. Try it for a few days, and document your results. You will be pleasantly surprised.
Prayer has worked for me in a number of ways, and I am grateful that I can have conversation with my God at any moment.
In order to get you started, I have created a prayer (see below) that is specifically designed for those competing in pageants. Pray this prayer throughout your pageant preparation season. I pray it yields you great results.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this amazing opportunity.
I pray that you anoint my head so I am able to deliver flawless answers.
Anoint my voice so I am able to sing praises to your name.
Order my steps so I am able to walk confidently and gracefully on stage.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
My prayer is that each contestant know and understand that pageantry is not just about winning, but it is about making a difference in the lives of others and celebrating the God given talents that are within.
Instill in these ladies a heart of sisterhood, service, and love.
There may be judges who will decide the final outcome, but God you are the ultimate judge.
Let my actions be a mirror that reflects your love, your grace, and your beauty.
Regardless of the outcome, I will still bless your name.
In Jesus name I pray.
Amen.
Once your pageant is over, don’t stop praying. Continue to pray without ceasing. Prayer will improve your quality of life and keep you focused on what is important. You deserve to experience all of the blessings God has for you.

Krystle these are principles everyone should live by. I love how you pointed out the importance of having a consistent prayer life before, during and after. This is definitely a great take-away…”Once your pageant is over, don’t stop praying.”
