The crown is NOT about you. Really Krystle? That was harsh! Yes, I know I know I am not going to get many “Amens” or “Likes” for making this statement, but I honestly do not care. I am not here to cater to your feelings. My assignment is to tell you the TRUTH so that you are empowered with knowledge. Your crown is not about you. Your crown is a tool that is used to serve others. Yes, I know you mastered the interview, adopted a healthy eating lifestyle, exercised for hours, and practiced that fierce pageant walk for days on end just so you could show the judges all of your hard work. I get it! You deserved to win, but do not lose sight of the mission at hand. A crown manifests great responsibility, and one of the responsibilities is service. I know it feels great to take a million and one selfies with your shiny rhinestone crown and sash and post them on social media, but that will get old real quick. The impact you make on the lives of others is what really matters. So how can you make a lasting impact? I will give you ten ways you can you use your crown to serve others.
- Visit a nursing home.
