Salut! I had the pleasure of serving on the staff of the Miss Tri-State Pageant Program this past weekend during the 2016 pageant festivities. Delegates from Alabama, Georgia, and Florida made the journey to the Flowers Center for Performing Arts in Ozark, Alabama to vie for one of 14 titles. The Miss Tri-State Pageant Program is a pageant system founded in 2013 that gives ladies the opportunity to serve their communities while building lasting friendships. The pageant competition consisted of interview, fun fashion, personal introduction, evening wear, and onstage question. Contestants also had the opportunity to compete in optional categories such as photogenic and swimsuit. The first day of competition contestants participated in interview and graced the stage in their Parisian inspired fun fashion attire and wowed the audience with their creative personal introductions. On the second day of competition, the contestants displayed poise and elegance during the evening wear competition and exhibited intelligence with their onstage question answers. All of the contestants did a fabulous job, and congratulations to the ladies that took home the crown. New this year, the pageant system introduced the sweetheart program. The sweetheart program is open to girls ages 3-10 who want to experience pageant weekend without the task of being a contestant. This program allows the participants to learn more about the pageant system while being paired with a big sister.
The Miss Tri-State Pageant Program is a wonderful system. Some may say I am a little biased since I am a former queen (Ms. Tri-State Elite 2014), but I know a good pageant system when I see one. I have been in this industry for nearly 14 years, and I have experienced my fair share of pageant systems. This system is not only organized and community service oriented, and the directors Kerrie and Ron Juliana are professional and passionate about giving these young ladies a positive pageant experience. In the words of Kerrie Juliana, “There is more to a girl than a gown and a crown.” The Miss Tri-State Pageant Program offers young ladies the opportunity to make a lasting impact on their community, state, and even the world.
