This month’s pageant feature is the American Pageants Organization. You may recognize their name because I did a post about them 2 years ago because they were the very 1st pageant system I competed in back in 2002. The system left an impact on me that shifted my perspective on pageantry as a whole.

American Pageants (formerly Miss Teen of America Scholarship and Recognition Pageant) was founded in 1983 by Mr. Warren Alexander. This system recognizes your women for their personal achievements, leadership abilities, and artistic, creative, and athletic talents. Judging is not focused on beauty or attire but on the girl as a whole.
The mission of the American Pageants Organization is to encourage and motivate young women to reach their full potential through recognition of; scholastic record, service and achievement to school and community, personal development, general awareness, personality projection and communication skills.
The pageant is comprised of the following age divisions:
Little Miss of America (Ages 7-9)
Young Miss of America (Ages 10-12
Junior Miss of America (Ages 13-15)
Miss Teen of America (Ages 16-18)
Miss of America (Ages 19-26)
The American Pageants Organization has an established partnership with the Special Olympics, and they help promote programs such as Project Unify, R-Word, and Young Athletes.
The American Pageants Organization is now accepting applications for state delegates for their 2020 pageant which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia. The system is also looking for state directors.
