What pageant has JuJu on that Beat, The Mannequin Challenge, and an awareness event for childhood cancer all in one fun filled weekend? If you said America’s Elite Miss, you are correct! This past January I had the honor and privilege of serving as a staff member for the 2017 America’s Elite Miss Pageant. Thirty-eight ladies from 16 states journeyed to Atlanta, Georgia, to compete in a system where glamour meets giving.
Contestants vying for the crown competed in the following categories:
Interview
Personal Introduction
Fun Fashion
Evening Gown
They also had the opportunity to earn other accolades by participating in optional competitions such as National Spokesmodel, National Actress, National Catalogue Model, National Runway Model, National Fitness Wear, Photogenic, and Elite Top Model. Also contestants had the opportunity to compete in a New York Fashion Week Runway Competition that was hosted by designer Talisha White.
In addition to the required and optional competitions, the weekend also consisted of an All-American Girl Party, Red, White, and Blue Silent Auction benefiting C.O.P.S., Be Bold Go Gold Charity Event benefiting CURE Childhood Cancer, and a Sunday morning devotional service.
The judges consisted of individuals from diverse backgrounds such as pageantry, reality television, education, and personal fitness.
Mallory Hagan, Miss America 2013
Lace Morris, The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise
Kiara (Young) Moore, Miss Tennessee USA 2015
Rodney O’Neal, Educator
Donna Ferris, Personal Trainer
Even though each girl did a fabulous job, only a few contestants walked away with national crowns.

Now on to the verdict. Was this pageant Krystle Clear? That would be a resounding yes! Even though this was the inaugural year for America’s Elite Miss, the pageant weekend was fun, organized, and professional. I am not just saying this because I was a staff member, but I know this to be true. The National Director Kerrie Juliana has been in this industry for several years, and she has the knowledge, skills, and abilities to execute an event on this level. Honestly, I cannot wait to see what awaits for this system in the years to come.
