Pageant coaches are instrumental to the pageantry industry because they prepare contestants for success on and off the stage. Since February is Black History Month, I want to highlight 5 black pageant coaches who are very successful in this industry. I have had the opportunity to meet in person and/or virtually these stellar coaches, and I know they will continue to make a major impact in the lives of others.
1. Jessica C. Alexander, Crown Chasers Pageantry
Jessica C. Alexander is a successful entrepreneur, author, and speaker. She has been in involved in the pageantry industry as a competitor, judge, coach, and director. 2. Amber Brown, Crown Captors Consulting
Amber Brown is a master educator, counselor, and mom dedicated to helping young girls and teens that are active in the pageant community. Her company’s motto is “Envision Your Reign”. Amber was recently named as a Top 10 Best Pageant Coach of 2020 by The Pageant Planet.

3. Mardis Hall, Mardis Hall Pageant Systems
Mardis Hall has been involved in world of pageants for about 8 years. He has produced winners in the Miss America, Miss USA, and Miss United States systems. His company’s motto is Go. Earn. Your. Crown. Mardis was recently named a Top 15 Best Pageant Coach of 2020 by The Pageant Planet.

4. Kristy Johnson, Krowned by Kristy, LLC
Kristy Johnson is the quintessential renaissance woman. She is a pageant consultant/coach, boutique owner, founder of a nonprofit organization, prevention specialist/therapist, and the founder of the EmpowHER Podcast with Krississippi. She is also a former Miss Black Mississippi USA.

5. Ocielia Sprowl, Slay Your Pageant
Affectionately known as the Confidence Catalyst, Ocielia Sprowl has been featured in media outlets such as Ebony, Parenting Teens, and Marie Claire. She is a former Miss Black USA, author, life coach, and speaker. At the age of nineteen, she founded More Than a Pretty Face International, a life-enrichment company she initially founded as an outreach to girls in underserved communities.
